Your GoToManage Web account is where you take advantage of everything that GoToManage has to offer.
You can access all of the data stored in your Search Index
by using searches, dashboards,
and applications. Because GoToManage captures all of your IT data, you can quickly fight fires
and keep your fingers on the pulse of your IT infrastructure via customizable GoToManage
dashboards. Through your Web account, you can also access
GoToManage Share-its that the greater
GoToManage community has developed, and administer your account, change names and passwords,
access data keys, and so on. Your GoToManage Web account provides the following main areas:
My GoToManage page
The main GoToManage screen is your home page. It provides
details about your Web account, and gives you
quick access to applications, inventory as well as helpful tips that guide you through using GoToManage efficiently. You'll also see GoToManage Share-its that
have been contributed by the community. (Even
though it's sometimes called the Search page, you can search from the GoToManage search bar
on every page.) From any page, you can type questions in plain English or simple queries
using a search term like dell.
You can drill-down the resulting hit lists to find
more specific information. You can also quantify information by selecting relevant data
from your resulting hit list to create tables and charts.
And you can write queries in the special GoToManage Query Language,
developed especially to give you the flexibility and power you need to answer just about any IT
question.
Dashboards
Dashboards allow you to visualize all aspects of your IT environment
and statistics on a single page so that you can
monitor what's happening on an ongoing basis. Use dashboards to create display info about alerts, inventory, network management, server health, and more. You can use the default dashboards in the Dashboard Configurator
or create as many dashboards as you like. For example, create one for network
management, one for inventory management, and one user management.
Customize
your dashboards by adding previously designed searches, either queries you wrote
or queries you've gleaned from GoToManage Share-its.
Since the Crawler is continually
reporting new data, data that the dashboards
display is dynamic and self-updating. You can also add purpose-built
applications to your dashboards.
Applications
Use the GoToManage applications such as
as the GoToManage Alert,
Inventory,
Netflow,
Patch Management, and application widgets to solve specific problems.
Install and uninstall them from your Application
page, and add them to customize your dashboards.
Community
Use the Community section to take advantage
of the expertise and development of your peers.
Fellow GoToManage users have created and
shared searches,
dashboards, and more, and are
talking about it. If you have a question
that leaves you scratching your head, chances are that someone else has, too. Check out
the GoToManage Community page to see what other IT
professionals have done. You can post your own
gripes and questions, or better yet, share the things that worked for you, and get
recognition for it.
