What's new

The new release adds lots of useful features:


GoToAssist Community

The GoToAssist Community includes IT professionals from around the world who use GoToAssist. GoToAssist serves as a 'community of record' for IT professionals that you can use to grow your career. Tap into the wisdom of other GoToAssist users to solve your most gnarly problems, brainstorm about new ideas, and use the GoToAssist forums for business networking. The GoToAssist community connects you with others in your field, which helps you get your job done and gives you a platform to demonstrate your smarts.

  • Share-its — Searches, dashboards, and alerts that GoToAssist users save and share for anyone to use
  • Forums — Benefit from the wisdom of your IT peers, or share your own knowledge via forums and discussions on GoToAssist's Community page
  • User Profiles — Have fun with your GoToAssist tag, give yourself a handle and an avatar that identifies you to other GoToAssist users
  • Ranking — Users climb the ranking ladder by participating in creating and offering share-its, and adding their two cents in forums, blogs, and discussions


GoToAssist Share-its

GoToAssist Share-its include articles, discussions, blogs, tasks, searches, alerts, dashboards, and more. Post questions to other IT professionals who may have dealt with the same challenges that you encounter. Save time by using dashboards, searches, and alerts on your system that other GoToAssist users have developed and shared. And get kudos from the community when you share your own.

  • Browse for share-its that meet your needs (it's like searching for searches)
  • Find shared searches, dashboards, and alerts
  • Modify any share-it and make it your own
  • Contribute share-its and help others
  • Tap the wisdom and experience of your peers

System requirements

To view your GoToAssist Web account, you need:

Operating system:

  • Windows XP (recommended)
  • Windows 2000

Browser:

  • Firefox 1.5 or 2.0 (recommended)
  • Windows Internet Explorer 7.0
  • Safari 2 or 3 (CSS issues make display less than desireable)

Other:

  • Javascript
  • Cookies enabled
  • Flash 9.0 (required only if you want to take advantage of the Network Map app)

Hardware minimums:

  • Pentium 233 MHz (Pentium 500 MHz or greater recommended)
  • 64 MB RAM (128 MB RAM or greater recommended)
  • 52 MB hard drive space

To gather information about your network, users, and IT assets, you need:

  • GoToAssist Crawler 1.2.0 or later

Known limitations

The following limitations are known to exist:

  • The GoToAssist Web UI is visible in Safari and UI, but not optimal. Firefox 1.5 or 2.0 browsers provide the best display.
