About GoToManage applications
You can extend your GoToManage system by adding GoToManage-based applications that perform functions such as taking inventory or sending alerts. Some applications can be posted directly to your Dashboard. Manage those applications easily from the Applications page:
Accessing an application
To access an application in your GoToManage system:
- On the lefthand navigation box on any page of your GoToManage Web account,
do one of the following:
- Click the Applications arrow to open the list of available applications.
- Under Applications, click the name of a specific application.
- GoToManage currently offers the following applications:
- Inventory — View information about network assets using drill-down navigation for network inventory and asset management.
- Alerts — Create alerts based on PQL queries that determine if a condition is met and if so, send an email message and/or a tweet via Twitter to the specified destinations.
- Crawlers — The GoToManage Crawler application allows you to monitor and configure the Crawler(s) running in your environment directly through your Web account. You can configure the networks that are scanned, the Plugins that are used to gather information, and track activity and logs. You can also set up schedules that inform the Crawler what Plugins to run against which hosts and at what interval. Just remember though that you need to go directly to the Crawler to configure your credentials, because that information is never stored in your account.
- Netflow — An application that provides an interactive, Flash based traffic flow visualizer and detailed usage charts and tables on top conversations, users, and hosts that are consuming the greatest bandwidth. To get started, simply install this application and point a NetFlow probe on your router to the GoToManage Crawler which will then automatically act as the NetFlow collector.
- Server Health — The Server Health application provides a complete view of the state and performance of key server infrastructure and the processes running on them. Browse the servers in your environment in a tree view and select the specific machines and processes that you want to view and monitor. View up/down status and the latency of the machines over time. You can also instantly set up alerts to be notified when machines or their processes experience any downtime.
- Reports — The Reports application provides summary and detailed reports that can be generated as both PDF and HTML. Run the report that you want and save or print it out. And if you have the Custom Branding option the reports will include your logo.
- Patch Management — The Patch Management application continuously monitors all Windows devices to ensure that they are up-to-date. It integrates directly with Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) to enable you to specify policy and deploy the latest Microsoft product updates to computers running the Windows operating system. And because all of the historical patch data is stored in GoToManage, it is easy to search, report on, and visualize through custom dashboards and reports.
- VMware — The GoToManage Crawler now includes a plugin that will collect rich information from VMware ESX, VMware ESXi, and VMware vCenter (Virtual Center). This information will be submitted to your company's GoToManage Search Index.
