Viewing share-its

GoToManage share-its include articles, discussions, blogs, tasks, searches, alerts, dashboards, and more. Post questions to other IT professionals who may have dealt with the same challenges that you encounter. Save time by using dashboards, searches, and alerts on your system that other GoToManage users have developed and shared. And get kudos from the community when you share your own.

To see all of the GoToManage share-its that are available to you:

  • In the lefthand navigation box on any page of your GoToManage Web account, click Community:

Finding the perfect share-it

The GoToManage community can help meet IT challenges by sharing useful dashboards, searches, and alerts. For example, typical IT professionals need to monitor their networks closely. You can check to see if someone in the GoToManage community has produced a share-it that will meet this need.

To look for a specific share-it:

  1. In the left-hand navigation bar, click Community.
  2. Under the Share-its Catalog, click Tasks => Network Monitoring.
  3. Select an appropriate dashboard. To monitor the network, the Network Status Overview looks like a good place to start.
  4. Click on Network Status Overview to see the its description and thumbprint.
  5. If it looks like what you need, click Use This Share-it.
  6. The new dashboard is automatically added to your Dashboard page.
  7. Click the New Dashboard field and add your own title, and then click OK.

Creating a Share-it

GoToManage is enhanced every time you share a search, dashboard, or alert. Sharing with the community automatically shares it with your colleagues too. But you can direct your Share-it to stay within the confines of your company as well. Note: When you create a share-it, only the search syntax is shared, not your data.

To create a GoToManage Share-it:

  • On your GoToManage system, choose one or more of the following options:
    • Create, refine, save, and share a search.
    • Create, save, and share a dashboard.
    • Create, save, and share an alert.
    • Comment on an application.
    • Start a discussion or comment on a forum.

Deleting a share-it

To remove a share-it from your GoToManage system:

  1. Click the share-it in question to select it.
  2. Delete it as you would any other saved search, dashboard, or alert.
