GoToManage Logs – 'Zero footprint' architecture

Log_searchSyslog_1You can use Syslog-ng or Rsyslog to send log data directly to GoToManage with no additional software. Syslog-ng and Rsyslog are the most widely used open source tools for aggregating logs from multiple sources. And they are already deployed in many server environments.

Syslog-ng or Rsyslog can be used to consolidate logs across multiple machines on a LAN. In addition, Syslog-ng and Rsyslog can also be used to securely send logs across the Internet. You can use these tools to send logs directly to GoToManage. Once received, they are automatically indexed in your account so you can instantly search, analyze, and alert on them.

GoToManage can also collectSyslog_2 all of your Windows event logs. This is done by the GoToManage Crawler from a single server (without installing agents everywhere).

With GoToManage Logs, you can collect logs from any number of Syslog-ng or Rsyslog instances and from any number of GoToManage Crawlers. The benefits are clear. You already have tons of software and infrastructure that you need to keep running and up-to-date. So why install more software when you do not need to for log management and why provision more costly servers. Take advantage of what you already have to consolidate and manage all of your logs.
